Definitely Fully Charged

As the 2009 movie season is slowly moving into gear with the recent success of The Watchmen, and with upcoming films like Fast & Furious (sorry, didn't we see this one already? all you removed was The from the title) easy to overlook as summer promises blockbusters from films like X-Men Origins, Angels & Demons, Terminator: Salvation, Transformers 2, Public Enemies, Harry Potter 17, GI Joe, and my personal favorite Inglourious Basterds I am more thrilled by the prospects of next summer's offering from everyone's favorite Swingers star turned director of Elf and the exciting Iron Man: Iron Man 2.

I am immediately blown away by the cast they have put together for this sequel. Only to be outdone perhaps by the Dark Knight and the blockbuster cast (Heath Ledger, Aaron Eckhart, Maggie Gyllenhal, Eric Roberts, and Anthony Michael Hall joining the original cast), Iron Man 2 is boasting a star studded cast of who's who in Hollywood. Here is the rundown of those joining Robert Downey Jr and Gwyneth Paltrow on the set and on the big screen next year: Don Cheadle (replacing Terrance Howard), Samuel L. Jackson (reprising his role from the teaser after the credits), Sam Rockwell (Confessions of a Dangerous Mind and Frost/Nixon), Tim Robbins (Mystic River, Bull Durham, married to that annoying bitch who hates Republicans and could not act her way out of a box if her life depended on it), Scarlett Johansson (Lost in Translation, Match Point, The Man Who Wasn't There), and the incomparable Mickey Rourke (The Wrestler). If that cast does not get you excited for a movie, I can not help you. Keeping in mind it is still a comic book movie, and a sequel no less, we as movie goers can only hope for the possibility of something as special as The Dark Knight with a cast like this. Don't let us down Jon Favreau!
